Wild Iris Sunset
Octavian Geagla walks down the dirt road at the top of Limestone Mountain with a beer in hand, on his way to watch the sun set over the Wind River Mountains
On a clear day, you can see the Oregon Buttes from Limestone Mountain, 30m south of Lander, WY. Contrary to the name, the buttes demark the edge of the great Red Desert, not a stateline a thousand miles to the west.
If you come at the right time, the explosion of wildflowers makes it clear why Wild Iris is named what it is.
